Daily cannabis use among American parents is about four times as common as daily alcohol use, according to a new study. Researchers estimate at least 5.9 million children live with a parent who uses cannabis on most days. Parental marijuana use rose substantially between 2012 and 2024, with some of the largest increases among younger parents and lower-income households. As cannabis gains social acceptance, one addiction specialist warns families may be overlooking serious risks. "We wouldn't automatically consider daily alcohol use harmless, and we shouldn't look at marijuana that way, either," Dr. Jarid Pachter tells Fox News Digital. Doctors also warn about the dangers of young children accidentally consuming marijuana edibles. See the symptoms that can lead to hospitalization at the link.
