SAM BANKMAN-FRIED’S FORMER 8% STAKE IN ANTHROPIC COULD HAVE BEEN WORTH UP TO £75 BILLION TODAY. The disgraced FTX founder invested around £400 million in AI company Anthropic in 2021, securing a stake of approximately 8%. Following the collapse of FTX, the company’s bankruptcy estate sold the shares in 2024 for around £1 billion to repay creditors. Anthropic’s soaring valuation means that stake could now be worth tens of billions of pounds.
