NBA STAR SPENCER HAYWOOD ONCE SOLD HIS 10% NIKE STAKE FOR JUST £79,000, WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN WORTH BILLIONS TODAY. In 1973, Nike co-founder Phil Knight offered basketball star Spencer Haywood a 10% stake in the company to convince him to wear its shoes. Haywood accepted the deal, but while he was away on a road trip, his agent sold the entire stake for $100,000, around £79,000 at the time, taking a £7,900 commission. Haywood later revealed that his former stake could have been worth approximately £2.1 billion, with its value potentially exceeding £6.8 billion when Nike reached its peak valuation. Despite losing out on the fortune, Haywood says he is still friends with the agent who sold his shares. #ThisIsMoney #Money #News #UK
