Why it worked
The video leverages a popular 'aesthetic' trend and a relatable car-tech customization to drive traffic to the creator's affiliate links under the guise of a charitable cause.
Summary
The creator showcases a customized Apple CarPlay interface featuring aesthetic Christmas-themed wallpapers while driving. The video serves as a promotional hook for the creator's affiliate showcase, where commissions are donated to charity.
Structure
- 1Displaying aesthetic Christmas wallpapers on a car infotainment screen
- 2Panning to show the car interior
- 3Directing viewers to the affiliate showcase in the bio
Product placement
Apple CarPlay (a feature of the car's infotainment system) — it ACTS as the interface displaying the images. Removing it would change the video as the entire visual is a screen recording of this interface. TikTok (the platform) — it merely APPEARS as the app hosting the video.
