5 reasons NOT to to learn to code in 2023 💻My hot take -💸 High earning potential = Mo’ money mo’ problems -📈 Increasing demand for skilled developers = you might be busy with more job opportunities -🎓 Creating your own stuff = wasting countless hours creating really cool things from websites to games -🧠 Problem-solving skills = becoming a master at finding solutions can become very tiring -🔮 Future-proofing your career = you might be one of the last jobs to get automated by AI which will be kinda sad With all the talk of layoffs & ChatGPT taking over, &- just wanted to remind you that learning to code is still a GREAT decision in 2023. I can’t believe you thought I was serious for a second there…😂 Developers will always be needed in the digital age! (…well unless we enter total terminator style robot-induced communism, in which case it’s moot)… Point is the pendulum WILL swing back around eventually, and when we hit a tech bull market again it’s good to be ready. The ones who get to profit when the clouds clear are those who stayed the course of the storm. Recessions may bring tough times, but they also bring innovation (if you think we’re not in a recession rn, we’ll likely be in one soon using any definition you choose…) This is the loop: ➡️resources become scarce 🔍 ➡️forcing companies to get creative 💡 ➡️& to cut costs 💸 ➡️which means finding new ways to survive 💡 ➡️ opening the door for startups 🚀 and new technology to emerge 💻 (ex. dot-com bubble burst of 2001 and the global financial crisis of 2008 saw the rise of companies such as Google, Amazon, and PayPal) ➡️This leads to the birth of new products 🛠️ & companies that change the game 🎮 And guess who will build those innovations? Developers 👩💻 SO learn to code! (but make sure to learn fundamentals & see the bigger picture) Do you agree?
