The 50/30/20 rule is outdated and needs a refresh. As much as I think millennials would love to, we unfortunately don't live in the same world that our parents did. I'm sure you've seen this, but this is the budget. I always get asked questions on how I started angel investing and I don't have a million dollars in my bank account, but as an accredited investor, I just chose to spend my money differently than some of my peers. Almost 20 years later, I am refreshing the 50/30/20 budget and creating the 50/20/20/10 budget. This is for anybody in their ownership era, anybody that wants to become hotter, smarter, and richer. It's holding you back if you are not investing in yourself and in your goals. I fundamentally believe that they are separate from your desires and your savings and your needs.
