Different companies are competing to become the first AI wearable that you're going to wear on your body all day, and here's my rundown of all three of them. The Humane AI pin has probably caused the most marketing splash with their little device having shown up on runway shows, etc. They've also raised a quarter of a billion dollars and have some splashy ex-Apple execs on their board. But to me, the company kind of gives off this Leap Motion vibe. If you don't know what Leap Motion is, it's a company that basically promised the world and beyond in terms of like AR/VR and then ultimately shipped nothing. If they do launch, I believe this will probably be the most premium of the three offerings. The Rewind Pendant just launched yesterday on pre-order, and it's actually the device that comes from a company that has actually shipped something that you can go buy and use today. However, what they've shipped so far isn't a physical device, but more of an app on your computer that you can go and rewind and ask questions about meetings that you've been in or stuff that you've done that day. Basically, the pendant would be a hardware version of what they've already shipped in software. Lastly, that brings us to the Tab device. This is probably the most bare-bones of the three devices. I know it looks like a carbon monoxide detector, but they're really taking ship the MVP to the next level. And as far as I know, it's just three people working on this, so maybe that smaller team will help them ship something better, quicker than the other competition. My personal preference out of all three of these, if they were to ship, would probably be the Humane AI pin if they were actually able to deliver on the promises they made during their TED talk earlier this year. But if you think differently, like you're not going to wear any of these because like you don't want to wear a wire all the time, like totally understandable, but let me know.
