You've probably heard a drop shipping. Or at least you've seen some 15-year-old kid with a lambos telling you he can get you rich quick. Well, drop shipping is not necessarily what has been made out to be. And this is coming from someone who's been in this for nearly six years and has had those crazy high revenue months. So here's a quick explanation of drop shipping and how it actually all works. Drop shipping is essentially just a fulfillment model that connects a supplier directly to the customer. In other words, I built websites with products that I find online as the main center focus. And it's not until a customer actually orders a product that I contact the supplier and from there they ship it directly to the customer. Obviously, you do pay a bit of a premium because you're not having to hold inventory or juggle all of this fulfillment. But this is a worthwhile expense manual fulfillment is pretty goddamn annoying. Anyways, the first step to actually starting a business like this is actually to find a product that is actively selling online. This way you can take over even a small portion of a market and just make a little bit of money. In order to find a product, a lot of gurus will tell you to download and pay for these software like Minia and Drop ship bio, and those aren't actually bad strategies. But for the most part, the best place to conduct product research is just through your social media. Another thing to note for my experience is most beginners actually find the most success selling in industries that they're actually consumer of themselves. Because if you really think about it, it'd be hard for a 15-year-old boy to actually mark it to a grandma just because he doesn't really know what the grandma is actually shopping for. Whereas he might have a better idea of what another 15-year-old boy might want to purchase. Anyways, once you found a product that seems to be hitting pretty hard, it's actually time to go find a supplier for that product, which is a lot easier than it might sound. The best three places for a beginner to find a detail supplier is CJ drop shipping, Zen drop and AliExpress. But something to keep note of is many suppliers on AliExpress specifically will have like four week shipping times, which is honestly just way too long. So if you're looking on AliExpress, just make sure that those suppliers that you are sourcing from have at least a maximum 20 days shipping time. This will set you up for a little bit more longevity. The next step in the entire process is just to build out a Shopify store with the product that you've chosen as the main focus. I personally prefer building websites on Shopify just because it's a lot easier and it's kind of plug and play. It's a really beginner friendly website and honestly, it just allows you to build a a decent website with just minimal effort. And with that being said, there are a ton of free tutorials on YouTube that will show you exactly how to build out a good website. But for the most part, if you want to keep it all in house, I have a 6-hour free course with a 2-1/2-hour module that just shows you strictly how to build out a website. But once you found a product and actually built out your website, it's actually time to start advertising that product. Or essentially just getting visitors that are interested in your products on your website that they can actually go ahead and make a purchase. And there are dozens of methods to advertising in e-commerce store. But for the most part, I really like to stick with just Tik Tok ads.
