One of the craziest things I took away with it is trend stacking. You take two things that people love, smash them together and make one massive thing. So this guy made a whole account where he basically helps you do things like fix holes and walls with different Marvel character artwork. The second really crazy thing I learned was that nothing is too niche for Tik Tok. Like how people sharpen pencils in different decades of history. I don't necessarily care for pencils or pencil sharpeners, but Tik Tok probably recognizes that I interact with this broader theme of historical content so they realize that I have a proclivity to videos like this. And the third and probably most important thing I learned from the report is that vulnerability is king. One thing I learned from going through every account that blew up in 2023 was that they were all open and vulnerable. Everyone fell in love with Alex Earl when she was making videos like this about dealing with bad skin. We're kind of just entering this counter culture movement of the influencer where people don't want super refined button up content, but rather they want iPhone raw recorded videos of people just kind of talking about whatever.
