I'm currently a PRN nurse. And how much money do you make per year as a PRN nurse? Um, my best year so far was about 2021. I made a little over $600,000. Uh, I currently average anywhere between 2 to 300,000 a year. Last year I worked really, really hard and made well over 300,000. And how many years of experience do you have as a PRN nurse? Um, I currently have about four years of experience, but I would recommend to have at least two years of experience. Usually the hospitals like to see a strong background in whatever specialty you're in. What do you do exactly? Essentially, what you're doing is it offers you the freedom and flexibility. So that way you can work as much or as little as you like. So you can work anywhere from one shift a week to one shift a quarter. What's like a secret to you to make so much money as a PRN nurse? I would say to leverage your outside PRN agencies because most nurses don't know that you can actually work with third-party agencies that pay more. And so that way you're able to work anywhere from, um, maybe one shift a week to one shift a quarter. It just depends on the area. $1,200 a shift. How many hours is that? Uh, that's about a 12 hour shift. Usually. Any advice you want to give to someone that wants to do what you do or become a PRN nurse? Absolutely. Get a non-compact license for sure. That's usually in California, Massachusetts, or like Oregon. So those are the spots that you'll get the competitive pay, the better ratios, and they're strongly unionized. So you're more supported in your role.
