How much money did you make per year owning salon suites? Over the past three, four years, I made over 1.7 million dollars. And how many salon suites do you own? Five locations. Three, uh, franchise locations and two corporate locations. So I'm also the first black-owned salon suites brand to gain franchise status. How many years of experience do you have in the industry? Over 10 years of experience. I actually worked in this industry behind the chairs, so I worked in a traditional salon and barbershop, and I own salon suites. So what exactly is a salon suite? Can you explain? Absolutely. So it's when you take a large commercial space and you break it into smaller rooms and you lease each room to different beauty professionals like hairstylists and barbers. And you let them run their own business. So it's hands-off. I don't have to help them find clients, or worry about their scheduling, pricing, or anything like that. And why is this a good business model to get into if someone's in this industry? Because it's pretty much like being a landlord in the hair and beauty industry. So similar to real estate. And like I said, it's it's semi-passive when done correctly. Um, so it's just a more lucrative, less stressful industry. Now, how do you get the first salon suite and start making money with them? How do they know they're gonna make money? Well, you got to put in the work. You know what I mean? It depends on the market area. You got to do your research to determine the pricing, make sure the numbers make sense before you sign a lease. And like I said, with any business, pretty much you just gotta market, market, market. And there's a certain strategy you gotta use to have effective marketing. Now, can you give me the numbers? Break down how much one location costs and how much you can rent each room for weekly or monthly? Sure, absolutely. So there's locations right behind us, 16 suites, roughly 250 to 275 per week per room. So we bring in about 16, 17,000 dollars a month. After expenses, we take home about 9, 10,000 dollars depending on how many weeks are in the month. Now, if someone wants to get their first salon suite, what do they do? And how do they get started? Well, I would say tap in with the number one mentor in the world, which is myself. You can actually Google that. Um, but definitely get some type of guidance and mentorship so that you don't have to make a bunch of costly mistakes and lose a lot of money and stress out.
