to men who support women/poc/queer communities in red states: I am someone who is from Texas. I spent 22 years in Texas. I am 23 right now. Um, and I am very privileged and lucky to be living in a blue state right now in New York where my rights are for the most part very protected and relatively safer living here than I did in Texas. Much safer actually. Um, but if you are a man in a red state and in Texas, um, take the day, take time out of your day, out of your week to reach out to the women in your life, people of color in your life, queer people in your life and check in on them. Make sure that they know that they are supported and that they can feel safe with you and around you. There are so many great men in the world and in the South and in Texas. Um, and I do hope that you continue to work, put in the work and continue to help people around you.
