It's high time we do a little de-influencer around some of the or most outdated marketing ideas people continue to prioritize. Some of these were good tactics at one point but just have not aged very well. Number one all your ads need to be on brand. The purpose of an ad is not to build your brand. It's grabbing someone's attention, finding the right people at the right cost at the right time. Your brand starts to get built after the click. From things like the website experience to the actual product itself, to the unboxing experience. No. 2 sending too many emails to this gives, cute, grippy, and very giftable. This is nonsense. Email has changed so much over the last few years. The biggest brands I know are sending 5 to 10 emails a week and are printing money. The whole point is to get someone to buy. Who cares if they are unsubscribing? They weren't gonna buy anyways. No. 3 your Instagram grid. This has been irrelevant for a long time. I pinky promise that no one is looking at your grid thinking, wow, this is so unorganized. There's no one I'm buying from these people. Create content people want. That's it. Just look at the brand way they're making tens of millions of dollars and their IG page is chaos. And finally I'm gonna get so much flack for this one. But SEO. I'm not saying it doesn't work. I'm just saying it shouldn't be a priority for every single brand. SEO tends to be best for products with longer consideration knowledge based products and clear problem solution products. Everyone else should just dial in their ad strategy and other things like that before they start crossing that bridge. And that's it. I'm feeling like I already need to do around two on this. So what else do I need to be adding to this list?
