I was on live and I asked everybody, where does your paycheck land? And most people said their checking account, which I found kind of interesting because that's not what I do. So I want to share my system because I think it could help you. At the beginning of the month, my husband and I's paychecks land directly into our high yield savings account. That money stays there all month. On the 29th, we have an automatic transfer that goes from our high yield savings account into our checking account. And it's just enough money to cover our rent and electricity because our building wants us to pay it with a checking account. Fine. Then the entire month, we use credit cards for all of our purchases, and at the end of the month, we pay them off with our high yield savings accounts. And we do this because interest compounds daily on high yield savings accounts. So every single day that I have money in my high yield savings account, I get paid for it. So there's no reason for me to pay my bills early. There's no reason for me to not have money in my high yield savings account. It literally makes sense for my money to go there first. And there's so many great high yield savings accounts. I have a few linked in my bio if you want to check them out. But I just don't think you're using them to their full potential. They don't have to be just for savings.
