How I packed to move across the worl I downsized my 4 bedroom house into 12 suitcases and here's how I did it PART consumer culture in the United States is such a real thing and I was a victim of it too something so overwhelming in the process is just packing and deciding what to take what not to take some people ship their belongings but we chose to just downsize to suitcases and fly on over Sentimental items? I'm a very sentimental person so I had a bunch of stuff that was honestly unnecessary like wristbands from music festivals perfect attendance certificate school notes a hundred burned CDs every yearbook every art project forever What am I doing with that across the world What am I doing with that across the world nothing I had to have a moment with myself do I need this is this gonna benefit me in some way do I need this is this gonna benefit me in some way I can take a nice little picture of it and have it for my memories and that's good enough but I don't need all of these physical items asking yourself what needs to come with me What do I need? What is trash? what do I need to trash what can I sell sentimental stuff aside we had so many things that were just unnecessary half my garage was filled with bins and bins of Christmas decorations I can't bring all that with me so I had to sell it we kept a few Christmas ornaments and items that are very sentimental to our family and we're starting again here we'll make new traditions we'll have new decorations 20 feet of Garland with me or like 75 ball ornaments all in all it's a process it's a mental journey you most likely have way too much shit you have to be in the mindset to get rid of it if you catch yourself on a day where you're getting all emotional about packing stop STOP try again tomorrow you have to be in the zone I'm curious is there like a quirky sentimental item that you wouldn't move without Follow for more tell me in the comments and follow for more life abroad
