AI posted about the fan made music video and the director of My Little Pony saw this and offered him a guest role on the show. They made a short video together where AI says hi to all of his My Little Pony fans and then he says "maybe I'll be on the show one day." And in 2014 it finally happened. He voiced his own pony. The season 4 episode is about Cheese Sandwich (AI) and Pinkie Pie battling it out over who is the best party pony. Until it's revealed later that Pinkie Pie is the reason Cheese Sandwich became a party planner in the first place and he never wanted to replace her. Weird AI has done a lot of voice over work, including many characters that are self inserts of him and his character in My Little Pony, Cheese Sandwich, is no different. He is definitely Weird AI in pony form. After the initial cameo episode, it was clear that both Weird AI and the fans fell in love with Cheese Sandwich, and Weird AI stated on multiple occasions that he'd be happy to return to the show. In My Little Pony's final season he returned for two episodes and it's revealed in the last episode that him and Pinkie Pie got married and they have a child together. So yes, a celebrity cameo character is now married to a fictional pony. And we have a fan made music video to thank for that.
