My favorite part about 2026 so far is how every millennial I know is just kind of ready to pull a 180. Because growing up, every single year in our lives, something new dropped that actually made life cooler, right? Cell phones, iPods, Xbox and PlayStation, wireless headphones, smartphones, social media, Snapchat. Like an app for literally everything. And we were pumped about the future because we grew up in this analogue world and slowly watched it turn into this like 7-inch supercomputer that now just commands our attention 24/7. Because everything became a subscription, right? Social media weaponized algorithms and advertisements to optimize to keep us scrolling to the point you genuinely can't go 24 hours without like a lifetime event dropping into your notifications. And not that it matters, but I still don't understand why a sandwich and a bag of chips these days cost like 20 bucks. And then, and that's why almost every millennial I know has this like same exact quiet where you just kinda trade all a job as a park ranger, a flip phone and lives in a tiny town out west where there's like this little diner, knows your order. Not because we gave up, just because we're tired of it all.
