Peter, give me some free Linux tool that actually makes living with a Linux system easier. Half the time I feel like I'm maintaining a spaceship. Then you need btop. It's one of those tools Linux users install instantly after setup. Btop sounds like either a Linux tool or an underground nightclub. What does it do? It's basically a supercharged system monitor for Linux. CPU, RAM, discs, temperatures, network usage, processes, everything visualised live in the terminal. Wait, like Task Manager? Way better looking and way more detailed. Real time graphs, mouse support, process controls, GPU monitoring. It makes the terminal feel modern. Ah yes, because Linux users looked at Windows Task Manager and said, what if this was made by cyberpunk astronauts? So why do people use it? Performance monitoring, server management, debugging resource issues, checking temps during gaming or compiling. Super useful for power users. That actually sounds sick. And it's lightweight too. Most Linux users install it immediately after setup. Incredible. The penguin people turn system monitoring into an IMAX experience. Is it hard to install? Usually one command. You can find everything you need on their GitHub repository.
