Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
Two years ago I had less than $30,000 and today that same portfolio is over six figures. Here are the four things I did to get to that number. Now for starters, this is not pure market return. I am not some genius day trader. The first thing I did was deposit 10 to 20% of all my paychecks into my TFSA, which for my American friends is the Canadian version of a Roth IRA. I did this every single month without fail and I actually had to set an autopilot so I didn't have to think about it. The second thing I did was that I never sold during a dip. I think if you're young and investing in your 20s, your biggest advantage is time, so I never got scared even when my portfolio was down like 20 or 30%. The third thing I did was invest in ETFs. There are a ton out there but I just picked two to three and invested in them every single month regardless of what price they were at. If you're curious, the tickers are VIU and VOO. I have a bit invested in QQQM but I might move that away because it overlaps with VOO. And the fourth thing I did was get lucky with individual stock picks. Meta for example, I invested in when they were at about $114 and now they're sitting at 600. This isn't strategy itself, but I do like the idea of investing in companies you believe in, so if you're also going to invest in individual stocks, then do your research beforehand. And that's pretty much it. Follow for more and in a future video I'll break down exactly what I'm invested in right now.
