If you're completely new to Claude, this is for you. So Claude's actually made up of three separate functions. The first is chat and that's the one most people know. You type, it talks back. It's great for ideas, writing, asking questions, all that sort of stuff. The second part is Claude Cowork. Claude Cowork doesn't just chat with you, it actually connects to folders on your computer and can do work for you. So you can point it to a folder on your desktop. It can extract data from screenshots and pop them onto a spreadsheet. It can do a lot of data analysis whilst you go and make a coffee. And then there's Claude Code. Now don't let the name put you off. Yes, it was originally built for developers and developers still use it all the time, but the beautiful thing about Claude Code is that now even non-technical people can use it to ask questions and figure out how to build things. So Claude Code's all for building things. But if you're absolutely new to AI and Claude, you're not gonna start there. So the easy way to remember it is, chat is for talking, uh Cowork is for doing, and Code is for building.
