Hook

Can I be real with you? I'm terrified. If you're new here, my name is Phil. I'm seven weeks into this UGC journey. I've contracted over 47 jobs. The amount of success and finding the UGC world is blowing my mind. I am finding incredible opportunities and every day continues to surprise me. I've only told like four people in my real life what I'm doing on camera. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when everybody finds out. But here's the reality. I'm talking to some pretty big brands. And when my face shows up on their social media, on their paid ads, cat's gonna let the bag out. But here's why I'm nervous about this. I feel like when creators make money and find success on social media, it is one of the most judged and scrutinized ways to be successful in our world. And if I'm gonna be honest, I might have thought the same thing at one point. And the reason is because deep down, there are more people sitting on their couch scrolling, thinking, what if that was me? And letting insecurity and doubt hold them back. They see find success, jealousy pops up or justification that what they're doing isn't that big of a deal or it's not hard, not something they have to work for or it's just luck. You see on here, grinding, putting foot forward and not finding success quickly. It's easy to extend empathy to them, but once somebody successful and once somebody books jobs and you see the fruit of people's labors, especially online, man, it can get nasty. It is inside me, deep down, a self-conscious. I'm somebody who walks around with confidence, look at me as a photographer, as a filmmaker, and they affirm it and they acknowledge my hard work and my effort in honing in my craft and that they have acknowledged the success I found in that world. And so I think to myself, what's different about this? Why would people think differently of me creating big brands? But there's something about it showing media in this way that changes in people's minds. I think I just have to fight against the insecurity of it. I still have so much room to grow in what I can't even film content in the house. My wife is in the house. So ridiculous. She knows anything about me at all. She's seen me at my best and at my worst. Does setting up a tripod in my kitchen to film a TikTok give me so much, I don't know, I'm landing and my encouragement to you is when we see people success, can we be cheerleaders for them? Can we celebrate out of them? Can we affirm the hard work that they are putting in to find success in whatever niche. And when somebody is skyrocketing to the top, can we replace the natural jealousy and judgment that we might initially feel and replace it with pride, with encouragement, with aspiration, thinking, hell yeah, good for you. I'm gonna be there too. Can we celebrate out of them?
