This might look a little scary at first, but what you're actually seeing is a website that shows in real time all the objects currently orbiting Earth. Everything marked in green is a satellite, working spacecraft that help power things like internet, GPS, communication and weather tracking. Right now, there are already more than 11,000 active satellites in orbit. You can zoom in, click on any object, see its model and even track its path live, basically where it is flying at this exact moment. The yellow objects are rocket parts that separated after launch and stayed in orbit. The red ones are space debris, broken satellite pieces, fragments from collisions and other junk still flying around Earth. And the blue objects are unknown. Radars have detected them, but they haven't been clearly classified yet. In total, Leo Labs tracks more than 25,000 objects in low earth orbit. Leo Labs is a company that uses ground based radars to monitor satellites and space debris, mainly to help prevent collisions in orbit. And the best part, the map is completely free to use.
