if i had to start freelance social media all over again, this is exactly what I would do. First off, I know you want to start jumping right into social media tips, but what that's going to do is attract other social media managers instead of potential clients. So, I'd pick one or two businesses or industries that you actually want to work with and start making content for them. Basically, I want to prove to your clients that you understand their industry. Number two, you want to build a portfolio around decision making not just your work. When clients are looking through it and they only see how pretty your graphic design skills are. They have no idea if you understand their brand or if you can make the right decisions and know what to post for them specifically. So for every sample post that you do, I would explain the strategy behind it because now they're seeing how you think, not just what you can design. Number three, and this is very different from the typical advice you're going to get. But before jumping into full social media management packages, I would start with something smaller. What this is going to do is allow you to get paid, practice your strategy and understand your business side of things first. And from there you can start upselling with full packages once you have everything in place. If you want some tools to get started, I have tons of templates and ready to use resources on my website. Last but not least, I would make That proves that I know how business content works. And the biggest thing I would study is buyer problems more than trends. So keep a list like I have here because that is essentially going to build out your entire content strategy for yourself. So with all that being said, you don't have to look like you're the most polished social media agency. Try to look like the person who clearly understands the businesses they are trying to work with.
