I charged my first freelance client $250 per month for social media management. When I realized how much work I was doing that was basically $6 an hour, please. I decided to build a system to ensure I'd never undercharge myself again. For every offer, I broke down the steps of the process and how long it took using data from client time sheets. Then I calculated my baseline hourly rate. Start with how much you want to make each month, add on business expenses and taxes, then divide by the amount of hours it takes to complete the project. This is gonna give you your baseline and from there you can go higher to build in more profit. I find that most creators underprice themselves because they're always guessing what they should charge. But if you use your data to make more informed decisions, I promise you will never undercharge yourself again. If you're struggling with pricing, start by tracking how long it takes you to complete certain projects over the span of two weeks.
