A 22 year old Spanish hacker

A 22 year old Spanish hacker who called himself of Spanish hackers just got sentenced to 31 months stealing bank account passwords. Got caught. He went on a YouTube podcast to brag about it. Jose Luis Huertas, his alias was Alcasec. In 2022, he used a stolen digital certificate from Spain's traffic agency to access SARA, a secure government network used by Spanish courts and government bodies. Once inside, he built a fake login page to trick Spanish court workers into giving their passwords. Then he hacked the neutral judicial network connecting every and pulled over 574,000 bank records. He put the stolen data on a dark website called Udyat and sold it like a storefront. His biggest buyer spent over €100,000. Payments went through a crypto service called Plsio. Police eventually traced the wallets back to him, finding over $543,000 linked to the operation. He set up servers in Lithuania to hide his identity. His co-conspirators got two years and one year respectively. Before any of this caught up with him, Alcasec went on a YouTube podcast and bragged that he stole details of over 90% of the Spanish population. He called himself a digital Robin Hood.
