If you played a custom map in Meccha Chameleon on Steam, a virus on your computer. If you don't know what Meccha Chameleon is, it's a game that blew up recently and they just got hit with a malware attack. Security researcher named Feint noticed something a command prompt window flashing briefly whenever certain custom Steam workshop maps loaded. Turns out the hackers had rigged specific maps with one called Laser Tag Neon secretly install a remote access trojan. The moment the map launches, this hands the attacker full remote access to your computer. But the devs pulled that map very fast. However, more infected maps replaced it. The devs ultimately pushed out a patch 3.1.0 to fix the vulnerability in the game itself. While they were trying to fix this, a developer even got their own PC hacked. Hacker used that to bypass two factor authentication on and took over the game's official server banning every staff and locking the devs out of their own hundred thousand member community. Devs have confirmed that the game itself is safe and it was just isolated to specific.
