EVERYBODY IN MY LIFE told me what are you doing? You're an idiot, you're stupid. And I went to work because I used to fly the drones up at Creech Air Force Base. I went to work, everybody was short selling their house and one of the people that I worked with was selling her house for $79,000. North Las Vegas property, two bedroom, two bath, single story. $79,000. I did not know real estate. I'm not even and I'm still not great at math, but I'm like okay, 20% of 79, I actually have that. I can do that. Went home, sold the idea to my husband. My mortgage payments on Portland Court was $500 a month and I turned around and I rented it for about 1,000 to 1,100. And I went, well that worked. So then we became the the most boring 20 year olds that you have ever met because we didn't have money. So it became this whole challenge of raising enough money to put down another 20% and saving money to put down another 20% so we were buying a house a year. So to answer your question, I started out as a real estate investor. And my husband and I bet on ourselves. That's right. That's probably my biggest bragging, right? It's not a house or number, it's the fact that we saw something, we did it. You're going to f*ck up in life. We definitely fucked up along the way, but those properties have quadrupled in price. We've 1031 exchanged them. We have a beautiful portfolio now that I'm super proud of that people want to look at and go, well yeah, they have all these properties.
