I heard that bare nails are the new thing and as someone who has rocked bare nails for the best part of 10 years, I know how to make them look good. Because we still want to look put together without the salon price point. You need three things. The fourth is optional. Nail file. I would recommend OPI. The lower the number, the higher the grit. The key to having bare nails is having them all the same length and all the same shape. I would recommend a round shape, purely because this is the shape that is least likely to break. And as they grow, they will catch on less things. If you have some nails that are way longer than the others, that is a big no no. It's just going to look bad. Cuticle Oil. A really good cuticle oil that you put on every night before you go to bed. I recommend the simple Proshine Protein because I found that my nails grow so thick and strong since using this. It's actually really hard to hold off. I got mine from Capital Hair & Beauty, then maybe other places. You put this on your nail beds before you go to bed and massage it in. Hand Cream. A really decent hand cream. Move over Elizabeth Arden, this is the most non-aesthetic cream ever, but it's very, very good. O'Keeffe's Working Hands. It's designed for contractors who work with their hands a lot. I truly find this to be the best stuff. In the winter, I always get really chapped hands, they bleed. And this has made it stop. And I have found since I've been using this that my nails have been so much stronger. So when you go to bed, after you put your cuticle oil on, put this on afterwards. The reason why I say to do it before you go to bed is giving it the maximum amount of time to sink in whilst you're asleep and not washing your hands during the day. This is optional. Don't have to have this, but I do find it really helpful is a cuticle nipper. You know those tiny little bits of skin that go around your nail that are annoying sometimes. You can cut them off with a nipper, giving you that clean, effortless nail.
