Should I deactivate an anti-inflammatory that isn't selling well? I get this question a lot in my shop audits. And the honest answer is, it depends. So when I do a shop audit, I look at all of the data and the analytics. So if you're getting a lot of favorites, if you're getting a lot of visits, that tells me that people are getting stuck in their journey from buying from you. And I call that the buyer confidence gap. So for example, is someone searched on Etsy, the search engine populated some results and your listing caught their eye and they were like, "Oh, I got to check that out and they hop in. That tells me they're interested. They came with intent to buy. But somewhere between when they clicked in, looked at your images and your product video, you lost their confidence in your product. And we need to evaluate exactly exactly what is happening. So when I do my shop audits, I see a lot of things. I see imagery that isn't great. I see there's confusion around how to even order the product, especially if you're doing personalization, customization. I see that all the questions that would be top of mind for that buyer are not answered. I see a lot of skepticism that could occur just based on what they're looking at. You're creating doubt in multiple ways. You're not handling their objections and ultimately you're losing their confidence and that creates a gap and that gap is what loses the sale. So when I do my shop audits and I analyze the data and I also look at the listing, the goal is to close the buyer confidence gap. You want them to feel ultimately that your product is the superior buy and they need to buy now compared to everything else that they just saw. You don't want them to have questions, doubts, skepticism because when you do that, then they continue shopping. And you want them to feel like, no, no, no, I don't need to look at anything else. This is exactly what I was looking for. So if you're getting favorites, if you're getting visits, that tells me, you have an interested audience that's sitting there. They are stuck. That is a bottle neck. And once you remove that, it truly is like opening up the flood gates because then you're going to see all these sales come in and you're going to be like, wow, I can't believe that was the thing that was sabotaging all my sales.
