Follow For More Kindness Now I don't want to take anything away from the kindness of the man in this video. What he did was beautiful. He gave someone food, dignity, clean clothes, a warm shower, a bed and reminded them that someone really cared about them. But beyond the obvious kindness, there's a part of this video that I really want us to take note of. This man right here. What he said made me stop and think twice. You remember what he said, right? He said, 'I'm okay right here.' And I'm sure one may ask, 'How are you even safe when you're homeless?' You are sleeping outside. You have no roof over your head. And I'm sure he didn't even have good food to eat. So how can you possibly be safe? But then thinking about it, it hit me. He wasn't talking about his environment. He was talking about his community. He's surrounded by people who understand his struggle. People who understand his pain. People who live a life he could relate to. And in that familiarity, he found safety. So this made me realize something. Many of us are doing the same thing. We are staying around people who keep us comfortable because they understand our struggles. We are staying in situations we've grown accustomed to because stepping into something better feels uncertain. I realized that sometimes people don't reject opportunities because they don't want a better life. They rejected it because they're afraid of losing the safety of what they already know. So here's the lesson. Growth often requires leaving the familiar. And sometimes, the biggest thing standing between us and a better life isn't our circumstances.
