Yesterday I got a bunch of comments like this. Since y'all are obsessed with my marriage and my sexuality, we're gonna talk about how we handle finances together. It's quite frankly, the rest of it is none of your business. Foremost, to lay the groundwork, my wife and I pretty much make the exact same amount. I literally 3 grand more than she does. Largely, expenses, utilities, groceries, mortgage, going out, gas, it really ends up on my card most of the time. The, uh, largely use her money for trips or for things that we're really saving up for, like furniture for the house. Now, our house money really is a team sport. And I think that makes some people mad. Also got a few comments that were like, the worst part of that video is that he makes his wife pay half of the mortgage. At the end of the day, you can get to goals a lot quicker if you do them together. Genuinely, what good is money if you can't spend it on someone that you love? We have a checking and a savings account with SoFi. She has a checking account that she's used since she was 16 or something like that. We do have a combined emergency fund and a savings account, and we also have a joint brokerage account. She has her own Roth IRA and 401k and I have my own 401k. That's not to say that you can't combine them. For the lifestyle that we live, we're pretty much in a good spot. However, she has a lot of goals and dreams that I would love to help make come true.
