Bagel Rap song at the young age of 42 is honestly one of my greatest achievements 🥹😂 Recipe below ⬇️ #Bagels #Recipe #Comedy #RapRecipe BAGEL RECIPE - 9g instant yeast -400ml warm water -3 tsp sugar -½ tbsp salt -650g bread flour Boiling Ingredients -Large pot of water (approx 3L) -Sprinkle of baking soda -4 tbsp of honey/sugar/maple syrup any sweetener -In med/large bowl add warm water, yeast & sugar. Mix & leave for 5mins to bloom yeast while you start step 2. If the yeast doesn’t become frothy, discard & try again. Your water might be too hot. -In a large bowl add flour and salt, mix together -Once yeast is frothy, add this to the flour mix and stir to form a rough dough. -Tip dough onto clean floured bench & knead 5-8 mins til dough is smooth & springy when pushed in with your fingers. If dough is too dry after kneading for a few min, add a splash of water, too wet - add a tsp of bread flour -Roll dough into a tight ball, lightly oil a large bowl, place dough ball in bowl, cover with cling wrap or ghetto lid for 1-1.5 hours somewhere warm until doubled in size -Divide dough into 8-10 equal pieces. 8 for larger bagels, 10 for smaller ones. Keep dough covered with cling film or clean towel as you work -Roll each piece into a ball, squash down to flatten with palm of hand. Insert thumb into centre to make a hole. Make hole about 3-4cm (larger than you’d think a bagel hole should be because it will shrink) -Gently work the dough into a bagel shape -Place on two lightly oiled & lined baking trays & cover with tea towel & proof while you begin preparing the boiling water in steps below -Preheat oven to 200 Celsius or 190 fan -In large pot bring water to a gentle simmer with baking soda & sugar -Place 3 bagels in gently & boil (gentle simmer) for 1-2 mins -Using a wooden spoon or spider, gently flip & boil for another minute -Remove & place onto same lined baking tray. If you want to add topping like grated cheese or seeds etc add this to the hot steamy bagels at this point -Bake for 15mins, flip and bake a further 10 until golden
