Replying to @Haley Queen Hope you’re still able to make these for your son! I didn’t film the instructions since it was my first time baking them but below are the ingredients/instructions. This yields approx 6 buns. Happy baking! 🫶🏻🍞🧑🏻🍳 Dough • 250 g all purpose flour • 1½ tsp instant dry yeast (about 4.5–5 g) • 37 g sugar • ½ tsp salt (about 3 g) • 1 medium-large egg (approximately 50–55 g without the shell) • 100 mL warm whole milk • 25 g softened butter • 1/2 tsp coconut extract (optional) Custard • 170 g condensed milk • 1 egg yolk • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1½ tbsp cornstarch (about 12 g) • 250 mL milk • 1/3 cup of coconut shavings Instructions: 1. Combine all of the dough ingredients and knead in stand mixer or by hand until smooth and elastic. 2. Lightly coat the dough with avocado oil spray, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size. The original recipe suggests 30 minutes, but I let mine rise for 1–1½ hours. 3. While the dough rises, make the custard filling. Whisk together the condensed milk, egg yolk, vanilla, cornstarch, coconut shavings, and milk in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Transfer to a bowl, cover the surface with plastic wrap, and let cool completely. 4. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces. I didn’t do it in this video but if possible, I’d reccomend filling the inside with coconut custard 🤤 5. Place the buns on a lined baking tray and let them rise a second time until puffy, about 30–60 minutes. 6. Brush the tops with melted butter. Use your fingers or the back of a spoon to create a divot in the center of each bun and fill it with more coconut custard. 7. Bake at 350F for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. 8. Let cool slightly, brush on any excess custard, and enjoy warm! #fyp #coconut #bread #baking #Recipe
