I don't care what anyone

I don't care what anyone says. There is a skill to yapping on camera videos. And as someone that has filmed thousands of videos and has a failed acting career, I can confirm. There's a lot of advice getting thrown at you, but here are some that I haven't heard a lot of people talk about. Number one, record it ugly. And I know that sounds a little crazy because I have makeup on right now, but if you're not used to these yapping style videos, the moment that you have the idea, I want you to pull out your phone and record it. Because one, you might have just recorded the video and you're just overthinking that you're quote unquote ugly when you're not. Literally no one cares. Or number two, if you're really like, okay, the sound was off, or I was in a place that wasn't supposed to be recording, or there's something in the background or whatever, at the very least, you can go home, get yourself ready and copy yourself. No script is gonna be better than your emotion, tone, passion, and conviction. You need to get really good at copying yourself. And that's so much better than spending hours doing scrolling. And that's not gonna help you at all. This one really hits for my clients because nobody says this, except no one is interrupting you. Like if you have a thought, you have something that you want to talk about, except that this is an opportunity that you can get all your thoughts out. Like, just let your stream of consciousness go without anybody interrupting. Like, that's such a blessing. Have a moment before. This is stolen straight from beginning acting class. But basically what it is, and I have other video examples if you want them already on my page. But basically what it is, is I just want you to yap about what you wanna yap about that day. Don't look at the camera, just yap to yourself, maybe fidget it around. And then when you feel you're ready, you feel like you're warmed up, then you go to camera, and then you start your video. Because the biggest mistake I see people make is fluffing up their hook and filling the beginning of their video with, Hi guys, today I wanna talk about. It's like, no, cut to that. Your video should feel like the middle of the conversation, not the beginning of the conversation. This one is a little bit different than what I hear all the time, which is pretend like you're talking to a friend. But sometimes that just doesn't hit the same because it doesn't give you enough emotion that you need to actually convey your message. So instead, I want you to try talking to a younger version of yourself. What did that version of yourself need to hear that they didn't have anyone else to tell them? But now you're gonna make this video to help someone. Help someone that was in your spot get to where they wanna be. Which brings me to my last one, which is emotion over perfection. Which is emotion over perfection. You think about a really good movie show you just watched. The writing is important, but the actor's delivery, expression, and tone is equally as important. I could write you a really good script, but there is nothing more magnetic and powerful than tone and conviction. So when you're making your videos, ask yourself, am I making someone feel something? AI this and algorithm that. You're still talking to real people. That should be your focus. That's all. Break a leg.
