So recently I have seen a creator girl post this on their Instagram and I think what a great example of why we need to build the collaboration layer, the actual tech infrastructure for the portfolio career. Because like at this, it's really funny, really relatable. LinkedIn this, LinkedIn that, why don't you just hire me based on my Instagram profile. This is a shared sentiment amongst a lot of Gen Zs myself included. I don't think there's an excuse if someone for a or a content role. AKA my women in spam to not use Instagram or someone's TikTok as a form of resume instead of someone's LinkedIn resume, because I also came across this image recently. From I will credit the person explaining between the traditional ladder corporate career with the latter's going upwards versus this new portfolio that's more shaped like a web of relationships. All of a sudden been ushered into this new era of the portfolio career, the this world where there is as career progression in organization and especially Gen Zs and Gen coming up seeing this lack of structure in their future pathways. LinkedIn just no longer enough to be the totality of who they are. This is obviously the most evident in creative in people, in those creative marketing jobs. But I think even in the way that founders are now pitching to VCs, and this is from my experience, to founders of tech startups, which I think applies to not only tech founders but also consumer product founders as well. Is they're being told not to prioritize their resume, which is all the details on your products, all the details on what plan is, the thing that you're selling. It's shifting towards this perspective that you are your experiences, multi-dimensional being. It has never been more important for us to have a place on the internet and I think more important for us to really start to think about how we can demonstrate that formally online to not future employers, because I think hierarchical world disappearing. This era of people equal grounds with each other. More and more people are starting businesses, and more and more people are not hiring full time employees, but they are working with freelancers and contractors. Equal grounds, exchange of services. How do we formalize? How do we demonstrate our own multifaceted identities? How do we show the world who we are? That's a question that nobody has really to answer. Our society is shifting and changing so quickly. The way we each other, the way work being redefined because of AI is changing so quickly. We haven't had time yet to build the tech infrastructure or any infrastructure to be able to support this new shift. Because realistically, it's only been two years since everybody and was like, holy moly, holy shit, this AI layoff thing might actually be a global phenomenon that is going to forever the trajectory of human history. It hasn't been that long since this has happened, and a lot of people like to think of this as something negative, as something to be afraid of. But I actually think in a way, I almost think this is a return to the early phases of human civilization, where we were more like barter trading each other in small villages and tribes. And if anything, I actually think this is healthier. This is almost like a more virtuous path because because of the day, we're all equals and we all share the same rights to exist and enjoy of the earth. And I think it's a progression for the better. However, the reason why this appears to be causing more suffering is because our society has gotten so complex. With a shift like this happening, we can't just go all the way barter trading leather belt from somebody else's chicken, like we need technology to to support this new shift, the origins civilization. If you see it that way, not too bad. It's just that somebody needs to create and build the net that's going to catch everyone when this dispersion happens. And I the great unbundling. I truly believe that if as individuals, we can all and collaborate with each other, we can truly build a brighter future for ourselves. Just because we got sacked by big corporations doesn't mean we have to starve, doesn't mean we have to suffer. It doesn't mean we have to go without essentials. The secret lies in our collective willingness to collaborate and trade amongst ourselves, rather than to the laws and rules of the old guards. Very much like to think of that.
