LinkedIn is literally so boring. If you think about it as something where you can only post achievements, okay? I think about LinkedIn and how you should be thinking about LinkedIn is as a passion project. It's a place to talk about your interests, your career aspirations, and just things that spark your curiosity. The most popular LinkedIn posts that go viral and that loads of people see aren't actually the ones about someone announcing their job. It's actually about people giving their hot takes, people giving their opinions, and people just sharing things that they've learned. As a student, you can literally be talking about anything. If you have a class that you really enjoyed, go and do some research on it and then go on LinkedIn and talk about what you learned and why you found it really interesting and how you would love to do something in your career in the future in that. As you post more things about your interests, you will have people follow you because they have similar interests as you, or they're similar students in a similar niche with similar career aspirations. And then you also need to be following pages that talk about the things that you're interested in because they might also like and be interested in you. Literally, that's all that LinkedIn is, okay? The stuff that I post are sometimes like, I feel really random about them. But some people really enjoy them, and sometimes just bring my thoughts to a public space, get sorts of attention, and that's great for building your LinkedIn and your network. So, please, moving forward, think of LinkedIn as a passion project, not somewhere that only you can have achievements.
