Meta thinks that giving their employees snacks is gonna fix all their problems. Girl, bye. I worked in the days of tech where they would literally give you omakase and spa day at work and literally jump in a bouncy house. Like, let's talk about what the snacks are fixing. This tweet lays it out really well, but literally last month they laid off about 10% of the company, 8,000 people. Like, that's a lot, especially when their profits are up, but their expenses are high. Think about it, y'all went all in on the metaverse and that literally crashed and burned. And then they were like, well, those of you that are left, 7,000 of you, you still have jobs. Congrats, but we're gonna put you on a new division called Applied AI. Apparently, it's like the worst, most mundane job where you're just like training a model, literally automating yourself and like, feels like what one person said is like a gulag. Apparently giving people like Cheez-Its in the micro kitchen is gonna fix that. Also says down here in April, that Meta is going to continue to track their employees' keystrokes. So they're saying, we're actually going to take this behavior into account. Okay, but the tweet continues, so this is what they're going to be doing to fix all the problems. Giving managers less reports, so from 50 to 20, which is like, crazy. Just improving their kitchens and some travel, which I think is like, travel for working at this corporation where I hate my job. It's like an obligation. And if you're trapped in that AI division, you can apply out of it. Girl, they're gonna relocate you somewhere and then just lay you off later. Let me know in the comments.
