If you’re still making sweet tea with gobs of white sugar… stop. 🍯☀️ This homemade honey sweet tea tastes like summer in a glass and is naturally sweetened with honey instead of refined sugar. It’s ridiculously easy, incredibly refreshing, and the perfect drink for BBQs, porch swings, and slow summer evenings. Save this recipe because you’ll be making pitcher after pitcher all season long. 🤎🫖 — Ingredients 8 cups filtered water, divided 3-6 black tea bags (or 2 tbsp loose leaf black tea) ½ cup honey (adjust to taste) 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional, but brightens everything) Pinch of salt Ice for serving Instructions 1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. 2. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. 3. Steep for 5-7 minutes (don’t oversteep or it can get bitter). 4. Remove tea bags. 5. While the tea is still hot, whisk in: ½ cup honey pinch of salt 6. Add the remaining 4 cups cold water. 7. Stir in the lemon juice if using. 8. Chill completely, then serve over lots of ice. For the BEST flavor: - Use orange pekoe or English breakfast tea. - Add a couple lemon slices while chilling. - Garnish with fresh mint. Want it extra sweet? Increase the honey to ⅔ cup for that classic restaurant sweet tea sweetness. My favorite flavor combo: Add 2-3 peach slices to each glass or muddle a few strawberries in the bottom before pouring the tea over ice. It feels like summer in a cup. Storage: Keeps covered in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. Stir before serving since natural honey can settle slightly at the bottom. — #sweettea #summerrecipes #refinedsugarfree #EasyRecipe #fromscratch
