Do these 6 things immediately after getting the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card! Here's six things I would do the day I get the newly refreshed Chase Sapphire Preferred card. If you're new here, I'm Christina, the Points Savvy Traveler. Make sure to follow me for tips to maximize your credit card rewards so that you can travel better for less. Now let's get right into it. Number one. Number one, I'd set a reminder in my calendar to use the $100 annual hotel credit. You can use this credit in the Chase Travel portal, and I usually use this on one night stays at a hotel where I wouldn't use points. Also, if you already held this card before the recent refresh, if you already use what used to be the $50 annual hotel credit, there should be an additional $50 credit in your account to use before your next anniversary. Number two. Number two, I am going to use this card for gas because I'll earn three times points on gas and EV charging now with the new update. I'm also going to use this card when dining out as it earns three times points at restaurants as well. Number three. Number three, I am going to pay for the Global Entry application fee using this card. Thanks to the new refresh on this card, you now get up to a $120 statement credit every four years. This shows up as a statement reimbursement for the application fee charged to your card for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or Nexus. But I personally opt for Global Entry since it includes TSA PreCheck. And pro tip, if you're taking advantage of this perk and traveling abroad soon, get your application done before your trip and take care of your Global Entry interview upon returning to the US. If you're returning to the US in an airport that offers enrollment on arrival, it's a super easy process and it can save you from potentially having to wait weeks, even months for a Global Entry interview. Number four. Number four, I am going to activate the offer for one year of complimentary Apple TV before December 31st of 2026. This is a great perk valued at $156 that can be activated on your Chase app or once you log into your account at chase.com. Number five. Number five, I'm going to set this card as my preferred method of payment on my Lyft account because I'm going to earn five times the points on Lyft services like rideshares, but also services like bike and scooter rides. And number six. And number six, I am going to link my Sapphire Preferred card to my DoorDash account and activate the complimentary DashPass that's provided with this card. Another great perk valued at $120 annually. Plus, I'll get a $10 DashPass credit every month when I use this card on non-restaurant purchases of $20 or more. I'm going to be honest, this is one of those perks that's hit or miss for me, and I don't go out of my way to use it each month, especially since the minimum spend was recently raised to $20. But it is a nice perk to have when you want to use it. If you don't have the Chase Sapphire Preferred yet, it's my go-to points and miles starter card. Comment "STARTER" and I'll send you a link to check it out. I hope this was helpful. If so, make sure to save this and send it to a friend who could use it.
