The Chase Sapphire Preferred is one of the best beginner travel credit cards and they just made it even better. For the same $95 annual fee, you already get 3x points on dining, takeout, streaming, and online groceries, and 2x points on travel including public transit, cruise lines, parking lots. 5x points on Lyft and Chase travel. But now you get 3x points on gas and EV charging, 3x points on vacation home rentals with top brands like Airbnb. And you also get Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or Nexus credit. I would go with Global Entry because it includes TSA PreCheck. And they already have a large list of built-in travel protections, but they added emergency evacuation and transportation. But they did lower the Hyatt transfer rate and remove the 10% anniversary points bonus. But they doubled the Chase hotel credit to $100 instead of $50. Other benefits still include the free DashPass membership and a $10 door dash credit every month. But now you get a free year of Apple TV just a one time per. And they're doing a 100,000 point sign-up bonus when you spend $5,000 within the first three months, which can be worth about $2,000 or more. So if you have one, it just got better and if you're thinking about getting one, this is the time.
