My "Why Duke" Supplemental Essay

I go to Duke and I got into every college I applied to so I'm going to be reading my Why Duke supplemental essay. Here's what I said: I've always been captivated by symmetry, whether in the evenness of form in my music and dance or the carefully calculated stitches of my knitting. The intricate balance between art and precision brings clarity and provides a sense of harmony. I see this equilibrium all around me at Duke. From the moment I stepped onto campus, I was attracted to Duke's flawless design and architecture, an immediate reflection of excellence and an announcement that detail matters. Duke marries the surface beauty with an unmatched depth of opportunity, placing as much care into its students as it does into its faculty. I'm excited to soak in all the campus has to offer while thriving in Duke's balance of academic and personal growth opportunities. I look forward to scheduling lunch with my favorite innovation and entrepreneurship professor, Aaron Dinin, at The Gothic Grill, absorbing his guidance on my work at the Innovation & Collab Studio. I visualize hiking at the beautiful Eno River State Park, admiring pieces at the Nasher Museum of Art, and being moved by spectacular performances at the Reynolds Theater. I eagerly look forward to packing my hot pink business suit and umbrella for my summer two, six week finance program in London, England.
