The ACT is a game. Play the game, understand the game, win the game. Here are the math tricks to help you win. Math is honestly the only section that you can't really trick your way through with little hacks. But if you know me, you know I'm at least gonna find a little bit of a loophole. So here are my two best tips to get your score up. Number one, you have to know what's actually being tested on this exam. So I swear by this video. It is ACT Math 21 concepts to boost your score. It is by Mario's Math Tutoring. This video is only 48 minutes and it breaks down every single concept that's going to be on the ACT and gives an example for each one. So if you know this, like you are so good. Number two, watching this video is gonna help you so much. But you need actual practice. Once you understand the concepts, after you watch this video, pull up math practice questions for each one of the concepts. This is so incredibly helpful cause it actually locks the information into your brain. I like to use the ones from knowt.com because it actually tells you why and then gives you more questions like it so you can actually grow. And my tip for that is if you get a question immediately go back and do more like it because it's gonna make it stick with the active recall. When you force your brain to actually have to give an answer instead of just clicking a button on a screen or doing a practice test, when you sit down and take the real thing, it is so, so helpful. So helpful to say, I've seen this before and I know how to solve it. I know how to solve it. This combo right here, the video and then actually doing practice problems got me from a 29 to a 36. So please try it out.
