Going to the Central Park Zoo but I left after 20 minutes bc of how SAD these habitats are... This is on my bucket list. It's a pretty glamorous day, so I was debating on coming. That looks like the tower of terror. Okay. So, these are the sea lions. Oh my gosh. He's up on the thing. Oh my god. We're going to go to penguins. Oh my gosh, is this real? He's real. Hello. Oh my god. Okay, this is all the space they have. Like that's it. This is like coming back. These are the seed. Like this is all they get. Okay. I'm a little sad now. Are the harbor seals. Wow. They look like tornadoes. Okay. So, this is where I started to get a little bit concerned. These animals look press. Like I'm no animal expert, but seeing this ruined my whole day. So before I came here, I made sure the zoo was audited. Basically just means that the animals are well taken care of, okay? But these enclosures are so small. Like way too small. Like he's just sitting up there and like he's up against the wire. I don't know if you can see. I had to stop talking. Like I was actually in shock. These were the snow leopards. hint snow leopard. I'm no animal expert, but like don't you think they should be in the snow. There's no like open complaints about the central Okay. Then I read this sign and it says that like they need high altitudes, low oxygen and extreme cold. There's none of that in this enclosure. So I'm like, I wanted to come here because it's the zoo from Madagascar. I know that's Lily and I should have done way more research before I came. And I don't really go to zoo's like ever. And in my hometown I go to like an animal sanctuary for like it's basically like a retirement home for animals. And just like the living conditions of this compared to the sanctuary. Like, instead of enjoying my time at the zoo, I was constantly looking up like, is there a petition I can sign to get this place closed. I keep searching up if this is legal. Yeah, fully my fault for coming here. I've never seen like so many penguins in such a small space like I feel like Bush Gardens does a better job with their penguins. Like this is a very well-known duo and it's just like this is the bar like the bar is low. Snow leopard habitat was so tiny like it's also very empty here. Like there's not a lot of people. But who's idea was it to put a zoo in the middle of of the biggest city in America. Like it's not even a good zoo. Like Anyway, I signed the petition from 2020 to reform the zoo. And the one from 2014 is closed. But both of these only have like a thousand signatures, which is crazy. So go sign in.
