I probably only two or three things that I reread every single year when it comes to software development and coding. And this is one of them because it is so, so good. I've probably read this six or seven times now, and every single time I read it, I learn something new because it's so detailed. It starts at a really high level and then goes down into the absolute weeds of the depths of your CPU and into the depths of your operating system. And it describes, I think, perfectly how memory actually works and how you as a developer can leverage them to better educate yourself on how the inner workings of your computer actually work and how you can write better programs, better efficiency, whatever it is, whatever you're building. I think it's something you have to know. I think in today's age of LLMs and AI, I think a lot of people use that as a way of not having to learn the internals, but I think you should be the opposite. I think you should use those tools to better educate yourself on how the computer actually works and how you can optimize something really well because you know how the entire system works, rather than just telling people to optimize it.
