I don't like to hire people for a shot out of audit because they tend to lack a lot of the fundamental skills necessary to be able to do the kind of work that we do, which is accounting in CFO services for e-commerce brands. Like the core outcome that I'm trying to make sure that every brand that works with us gets is that they are able to have a better understanding of their financial data to make better decisions so that they can scale more aggressively while doing so sustainably and with the least amount of risk. So in essence, make smarter decisions for your business to run it better. Aside from the fact that a lot of the stuff that you learn in audit is just about the audit methodology in which check you have to fill out for whatever. The actual core accounting work often times misses in terms of being able to develop the skills for this particular outcome. Uh for three reasons. The first is that you are a lot more focused on the final numbers rather than the actual process that gave rise to those numbers. And I realized that there's some element of walk throughs and control testing, but it still doesn't quite go far enough because of number two, which is that you are often times put under so much pressure when you're doing audit work to get a lot of work done in a very short amount of time and get all your testing done that you you don't necessarily have the patience or the the room mentally to be able to actually go and deeply understand the numbers. You're just panicking and scrambling to get the audit done. And the third piece of it is that you're so focused on just the final numbers meeting the audit suspicions that you don't actually take the time to think about or really investigate like what it actually means for the business. I know some auditors like to think, man, well I'm a trusted advisor. No, they're paying you for your audit, not for your advice. You just happen to give them advice.
