Before I worked in Audit, didn't care work life balance and after I do, it's not the number 1 priority because typically that means less compensation. At this point I just want my time to be respected. I'm For me it was the opposite. Most people who went through Big 4 audit work like animals and then when they left, they were seeking out an opportunity to work a lot less. Whereas in my case, I was working in Big 4 audit, I actually didn't work that much while I was there because I was really fast and so I was able to just get the work done and then like people would stay late just to be there. And like yeah, no, I'm leaving. I don't care. So I would leave because I hated the work, I hated the culture, I didn't find any of it valuable or interesting. But then when I left, I actually became a lot more hardworking because I went to a startup and then there, I actually enjoyed what I was doing, was excited about building things and so I would work on my own, work super late, work the weekends because I just liked doing stuff. I take pride in my work. I enjoy doing great things. I enjoy contributing to building things, but like I have to care about what I'm doing.
