I get so many questions asking what I do for work. So let me give you a quick introduction. My name is Alexis and I am currently an operational technology analyst. Instead of me trying to tell you exactly what it is, I'll just give you some skills that help me do my job on a day-to-day basis. Number one is communication. Now, it sounds cliche, but it's not. You have to know how to talk to people because essentially you are the liaison between the IT department and the operational team. And you also need to know how to stand up for yourself and set boundaries because working in IT in general will definitely run you crazy if you don't. Number two is organizational skills. Because essentially you are always solving problems for people and you have to keep that in order. You need to know what's what's not and how to stay up to date with everything. Next is RCA, which is root cause analysis skills. And this one is essential because you have to know how to find the issue as well as solving it. You need technical skills, things like Windows, server virtualization, foundational IT experience. If you want the specifics on how to get into tech and different routes to say, just check that link in my bio. See you. Bye.
