IT VS OT

IT vs OT What's the difference? This is something I see a lot of people get confused about... So let's break it down. By the way, my name is Alexis and I like technology. IT stands for Information Technology. They manage things like email, databases, video conferencing, internet connectivity. Their priorities are security, data integrity, and making sure that everything is up and running 24/7. OT, or Operational Technology. This is the technology that manages and monitors physical equipment. Think things like power plants, manufacturing facilities, transportation, oil and gas, or even warehouses and retailers. For OT, the focus is on safety, monitoring and control systems that keep the physical workflows smooth and efficient. OT environments usually include things like robots, skate systems, programmable logic controllers, and CNC machines. To sum it all up, IT is about data and services.
