This is an RGB matrix board. And this is an empty spot on my wall that fits this board almost perfectly. So let's make something with this. My plan is that I'm gonna display a spinning CD version of whatever song is playing and it's gonna just use the album art of that song. First thing we have here is an RGB matrix bonnet for the Raspberry Pi. I soldered this part right here together and then also pin four and 18 together. What you're gonna do is you're gonna take your Raspberry Pi Zero and you're gonna take your bonnet and you're just going to slide that in like that and there you go. The box the matrix came in came in with some wires. So we're gonna take the red side of it and put it into the positive side. So you just stick it in like that and you screw it tight. Sweet, now that's not gonna move. And then you take the black side and you put it into the negative side and just make sure they're secure. So now take your matrix and then flip it over and here you can see VCC and ground and then you're gonna connect the other end of that wire to this. So this is the other end, you're gonna take one of these and connect it to here and then make sure the red lines up with VCC. And then you're gonna take this other cable that came with it and put that into here and then the other side of this goes into this part of the bonnet. And that's the hardware setup. Now we just got to write the code. So the code is a little complicated because I first had to get it to work with Spotify and authenticate my token and then I had to get like a library that handles the RGB stuff on the matrix. But the code it works, so here's all that. Now let's just run it. So here I basically SSH into my Raspberry Pi and I run the script and let me show you what this looks like. I've been obsessed with this album, the new Olivia Rodrigo album that came out, so let me play it on Spotify and then here's how it looks like when it's playing. And then this is what it would look like on the wall. This is literally the coolest thing ever. It looks so good in person. There's no none of this like flickering that you see on the camera. The back is kind of messy, like the electronics are just kind of out and there's a wire connecting it to the wall and outlet. So I just need to build a frame around this and then keep it all nice and tidy up there. So come back for part two.
