Instagram's CREEPY new update : silent watchers

I need to speak to someone about this new Instagram update. Basically, you can upgrade to Instagram Plus to anonymously watch people's stories. You can watch anyone's story without appearing on the viewer list. And why I want to speak about this is because on first glance, this sounds kind of cool, like you can watch people's stories on the sly. It could be, you know, a guy that you're speaking to and you don't want to let him know that you're seeing his story, or it could be competitors. Whatever it is that you're doing, I think that side of it, I get and I get the appeal. However, not a lot of people are speaking about the concerning side of this from a safety standpoint. You don't know who's watching you. And that's the bit I don't like about this, and it feels not right. So my best advice would be whether you have a following or not, like anyone who's on social media, really, really think twice about what you're sharing, what you show at that current moment in time. Even small things to, like, I used to share where I go to my yoga class every morning, and by sharing that and tagging them, it was literally giving away where I'm from locally. And now with this update, you literally do not know who is watching you, which is quite terrifying. So it really opens people's opinions on this has done Instagram done something great here? Or is this something that they're going to be pivoting away from? Also, you only get this upgrade people have to pay to get this feature. So I think there are some people that will happily pay for that, but not for the right reasons.
